As Acting Head of School, I extend a warm welcome on behalf of Ethelred Nursery School & Children’s Centre. We have been delivering Early Years provision for children since 1975 and Children Centre services for families since 2004. At Ethelred, children are at the centre of all that we do and we are committed to working in partnership with parents and carers to secure the best outcomes for our children and their families.
We were thrilled to move into our brand new school and centre in September 2018. It is a light and spacious modern building which the children and parents love. Our new facility will allow us to revise and expand our early years services. We feel our children and families deserve to have the very best and we welcome the opportunity to continue to serve our local community.
Ethelred is now part of the Lambeth Nursery Schools Federation comprising the 5 Lambeth Nursery Schools. This development is welcome as it will allow us to work more effectively together, whilst retaining our unique identities.
Our website provides information about who we are, what we believe and what we provide for children and families in our local area.
Our nursery provision offers free places to children who are 3 and 4 years old and we also provide additional places for 2 year olds under the early learning offer. Paid places are also available.
Our Children’s Centre works in partnership with health and other providers to deliver family services, drop-ins and training courses.
We welcome visits and enquires, so please contact us on 0207 582 9711 to arrange a visit and seek further information or contact our admin officer for any paper copies you might find useful.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Acting Head of School
Covid 19 update.
To all our parents, carers, friends, visitors and families.
Thank you to all of you for responding to say if you were happy for your child to return to school. We now have more children attending school regularly, currently 15 children. These places are still for the priority groups, children with key worker parents or children that are vulnerable. We are closely monitoring the situation and reviewing the risk assessment.
Parents and carers please continue to check your emails regularly as we will be sending out information and ideas of things to do with your child while at home. We would really like to see what you have been doing, so don’t forget to post your photos and videos on the EExAT App. You can find some useful websites here, and a range of activities to support you home learning with all ages of children. We will also keep you informed of any changes to our provision.
All children’s centre sessions are also cancelled. If you need any support you can contact us on the school phone number at the bottom of this page. You can also complete a self referral form via the Lambeth website.
Please take care and follow the advice given by the government to help control the spread of this virus. It is very important that you and your children remain at home and where possible, avoid contact with others outside of your home.
You can find out more about the help available with funding your childcare on the new government website Childcare Choices and also at Lambeth Parent Portal.
